Police Seek Homicide Suspect in Brickhouse Drive Incident

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are seeking a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the 20900 block of Brickhouse Drive on Sunday, Aug. 28.

At about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of Brickhouse Drive, police found Montique D. Fitzgerald, who had been shot. Fitzgerald, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting was preceded by an altercation between Fitzgerald and the suspect, Brian K. Uzzle, 29. Police have obtained warrants for Uzzle, of the 20800 block of Sasha Court, for murder, illegal possession of a firearm and brandishing a firearm.

Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Robious Road Accident

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a pedestrian who was struck by two vehicles in the 11400 block of Robious Road at approximately 7 p.m. on March 4, 2011.

Police said a 1999 Ford Mustang and 2002 Toyota Camry were traveling east on Robious Road when the drivers struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

Chesterfield County Police Department have identified the man who was killed as Jeremy C. Bannon, 29, of the 8300 block of Sir Lionel Place.

Police Investigate Wachovia Bank Robbery on West Hundred Road

Police are searching for man who robbed the Wachovia branch at 4400 West Hundred Road at noon on Sept. 11. No one was injured during the robbery.

Police said the suspect approached a teller, demanded money and then fled.

The suspect is a black male, 30-39 years old, between 5 feet 7inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He wore a white, orange, and brown shirt with blue cargo pants and a white baseball hat.

Police Make Arrest in Omo Road Stabbing

Police responded to a home in the 6100 block of Omo Road in the Kings Forrest subdivision at 4:15 a.m. on Sept. 11 and discovered a 29-year-old man with an apparent stab wound.

The victim’s girlfriend, Shawntina Dobbins, 30, has been charged with felonious assault. She is being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail pending an upcoming hearing in the Chesterfield County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Pedestrian Killed by Amtrak Train

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a crash that involved an unidentified pedestrian who was struck by a train at about 2:40 p.m. today.

Police said an Amtrak train was traveling north near the Defense Supply Center when it struck a male who was walking beside the tracks. The pedestrian was found dead a short time later. The man’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office where the victim was identified as Aubrey A. Weese, 25, of the 3700 block of Luckylee Crescent in Richmond.

Police continue their investigation into this crash.

Police Emphasize Traffic Safety for Labor Day

The Chesterfield County Police Department’s Traffic Section is conducting several countywide DUI checkpoints and roaming patrols in conjunction with the Start Safe-Finish Safe campaign. The summer boating and traffic safety initiative began May 28 in which officers targeted drunk driving and boating, speeding, red light and seat belt/child safety seat violations.

Police continue to create awareness among Chesterfield County residents about overall traffic safety and the dangers of drunk and reckless driving. Please celebrate the Labor Day weekend safely whether staying in the area or heading out of town by:

Driving and boating sober
Wearing a seat belt/securing children in a child safety seat
Stopping at red lights
Focusing on the business of driving and utilizing safe driving habits at all times
Being cognizant of pedestrians, bicyclists and other motorists
Driving the posted speed limit

Underage Drinking at Reedy Mill Home Results in 14 Arrests

Fourteen people between 16 and 20 were arrested and charged for underage possession of alcohol on July 24 after police discovered underage drinking at a party in a Reedy Mill home.
Police responded to a home in the 12400 block of Waterfall Crest Way at 1:45 a.m. to investigate reports of loud music. Once inside the home, officers discovered underage party goers hiding in the garage, basement, attic and under beds.
Arrested were Trevor M. Burton, 18, of the 5600 block of Silver Birch Lane; Taylor C. Frederick, 19, of the 5500 block of Chesnut Bluff Road; Schyler D. Westbrook, 18, of the 8000 block of Hancock Farm Lane; Alexander A. Huertas, 20, of the 14000 block of Hockliffe Lane; Ashwin Sharma, 19, of the 5700 block of Harbour Ridge Road; Todd A. Foglesong, 19, of the 3200 block of Oakmeadow Lane; Joshua D. Morris, 19, of the 11000 block of Blossomwood Road; Kyle M. Lee, 19, of the 5200 block of Highberry Woods Road; Keith M. Duhamel, 19, of the 14000 block of Forest Row Trail; Samantha L. White, 19, of the 3300 block of Quail Hill Drive and one male and three female juveniles.

Another Smash and Grab at Local ABC Store

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the ABC store, 13121 Rittenhouse Drive at about 1:33 a.m. today.

Police said two unknown men smashed a window and stole three bottles of vodka and then fled on foot. The estimated vandalism damages to the store are about $1,000.

Both suspects are white males who are between 16-20. One suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt, jean shorts and black tennis shoes. The second suspect has short black hair and wore a black T-shirt with white text and blue jeans.

17-Year-Old Father Charged in Death of Infant

A 17-year-old father was arrested and charged in connection with the death of his two-month-old son.

Police and fire personnel responded to a home in the 4000 block of Clipper Bay Drive at 11:45 p.m. on June 22 for a report of an infant who was not breathing. The baby was taken to an area hospital and later transferred to VCU Medical Center, where he later succumbed to what doctors indicated was shaken baby syndrome.

The 17-year-old father was charged with murder on June 28 following an investigation into the incident. He is being held in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center pending an upcoming hearing in Chesterfield County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

Teen Facing More Charges for June 12 Courthouse Road Crash

A 17-year-old driver is now facing additional charges as a result of the single-vehicle crash in the 800 block of Courthouse on June 12.

The teen was charged with vehicular involuntary manslaughter/ DUI-related, maiming as a result of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and driving after illegally consuming alcohol. The teen was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry heading south on Courthouse Road when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the northbound lanes and struck a tree. Passenger Christopher S. Matherly later died from his injuries. A second teen passenger was hospitalized and later released.

The 17-year-old is being held in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center pending an upcoming hearing in the Chesterfield County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
