Chesterfield Public Schools cancels activities for Dec. 18-20

Because sleet and 5-12 inches of snow are predicted in central Virginia, all Chesterfield County Public Schools after-school activities are canceled for Dec. 18. Also, school buildings will be closed and all activities canceled on Dec. 19 and on Dec. 20. This includes Parks and Recreation events and worship services scheduled for any Chesterfield school.

After consulting with emergency officials, the school system decided to close its buildings to ensure the safety and security of school employees, Chesterfield residents and county facilities. School leaders will continue to monitor the weather situation and post updates on the school system’s web site (chesterfield.k12.va.us) if necessary.

Winter break for Chesterfield County students and staff members begins today; schools are scheduled to re-open on Jan. 4.
