Obituary for Deborah Lovern Barkley

BARKLEY, Deborah Lovern, 59, of Richmond, was received in the arms of the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, George Robert Barkley Jr.; her sons, Joshua Webb Barkley and Matthew Harrison Barkley; a brother, William Brent Lovern and his wife, Karen Sellers Lovern; two nephews, William and Grayson Lovern; a sister-in-law, Diana June Messer; two nieces, Jenni Shodt and Abbi Messer; and many loving friends. Debbie was a member of the Tuckahoe Women’s Club and the outgoing president of the University of Richmond Chapel Guild. She was also a member of Third Presbyterian Church and Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Kilmarnock, Va. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cannon Chapel at the University of Richmond. The family will receive friends after the service at a reception at Third Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rehobeth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 203, Kilmarnock, Va. 22482. Bliley’s – Augusta Chapel is assisting family with arrangements.
